Lafayette District Klondike Derby

   This is a very exciting and fun camp for all.  The weekend has a theme like a normal Camporee, except this is definitly no normal camporee.   Each patrol builds and pulls their own "dogsled" through a large course at Delmont Scout Reservation.  Each station is different and contains a problem that needs to be accomplished by the entire patrol.  Last years Klondike, the "Boxing Bears" patrol of our troop came 3rd place.  The sled was led by Andy and John.   It consisted of a great patrol of scouts.  We missed 1st place by a small margin.  Next year we are hoping to have one sled to try to win and another for the newer scouts to get adjusted.  The track is exhausting as Delmont REservation contains many large hills and rough terrain (not to mention we usual have mud instead of snow).  Overall this camp is great and a good time is always had by all, just remember to dress warm!
